Math:

 This week in Math this week i did some F.I.O and some picture cards. I like doing F.I.O if it is what I like in Math.

Writing:

In Writing this week i have finished my Free writing piece and I also finished my illustrations for my free writing.

Reading:

In Reading this week i am reading Friday Barns girl detective and Finding Gobi.

In math this week the class went back to decimals in one and one hundred. Also doing picture cards and division.

Writing:

For writing this week I have enjoyed doing my Free writing about a dog called Gobi and Ella and I are at summer camp.

In Math this week i enjoyed coming back to division and doing 25 question and doing the card picture questions. also doing the word story was fun doing as a group.

Writing...

In writing this week i have really enjoyed doing free writing about A dog Named Gobi which it is about Ella and I are at summer camp and ms grump found a dog and if no one would keep her the it well go to the pound and so Ella and I decided to keep the dog and name it Gobi.

Reading...

In reading this week I have enjoyed reading Finding Gobi I really am enjoying this book because I got it from the book fair.

Athletics

Athletics 

At TA on Friday the seniors and year 3&4s came as well to Athletics and the 10 year old first activity was high jump. I personally don't like high jump back i am ok at the lower part of high jump but just not my thing to do at athletics. Then our next activity is middle distance I like running but just not the fastest runner in the world but i think i did well with the placing that i came for a big group. I came 8th in middle distance and I would like next time to come a higher placing. For our next activity is discus this was to get through the whole group 3 times before sprints and i like discus but just not a good thrower but i got a tip witch is if you throw higher you get more distance and if you throw a low trow then good luck on getting far. Next up is sprints i love sprints its my favorite then at athletics. I came 4th which is ok i guess but i was racing hard and fast runners which Millie came first and then Ella came second and then Bonnie came third and I came forth. Our next activity is high jump I do like high jump but i am not that good because i do not have long legs. Our lucky last but not least is shot put i like shot put but not good once again because i do not have a good throw.

Math...

In Math this week the class and I did word story I enjoyed doing  it again we also did that I enjoyed was math cards with our points we keep for our group is now up to 170. I also did the decimal work sheet 

  

Reading... 

In writing we did Dr Seuss proof reading and handwriting. I also did the OPAC reading. I have finished the great choc plot and this week I am now reading Judy Blume Double Fudge. i did the character     

Writing...

In writing this week I did another Handwriting I like doing that sort of handwriting.

2017 Camp

Year 5/6 Camp 2017

Kayaking:

Kayaking was our first rotation I have been Kayaking at Raglan with Ella and In Australia. We headed out and starting to know how to paddling properly. Flynn keep trying to push me over but i had control of the kayak.We had a race  came 5th in the race and Ella came third which I was glad for her.

Rock-Climbing:

The next activity of the first day was Rock-climbing I love rock climbing I got to the bell the first time but when it was time to go down he started running forwards and for me I went straight down so fast it felt look it took 1 second. the man was very kind and let us have another turn this time I told the man not to fast when I went down which it wasn't that fast as the first time. Ella and Rock climbing does not go together very well so i encouraged her for the first time she even went another time.

Scavenger hunt:
The second rotation was scavenger hunt all we had to do was split up in groups of 2 we all had to find i thing each in a group Ella and I found a toi toi.

Raft building:
In Raft building the team got 10 people on one raft and we got the highest record so we were glad for that. it was really fun and the end Ella and I tried jumping in the lake but we didn't because it was freezing and it was time to go.

Slug Gun shooting: 
This rotation I already knew, how to to do and how to load it so the teacher said I guess you don't need help. I also helped Ella on how to load the gun and open and close the gun.

Orienteering:
Orienteering was fun to know how to use a compass. I have tried to use a compass but it didn't go that well in the bush.

Mud Run:
At the start I did not want to do the mud run but Ella pushed me to do it And I did it and I loved it Thank you Ella for making me do it. It was an awesome experience. 

Horse Riding:
I loved horse riding was really fun I am glad with the Horse I had called Rain. I really enjoyed doing this activity.

After activity's:
Before going Home we went to the pools they were fun.

Production Reflection

Kahikatea Team Production 

Kahikatea Team have done a great job on our Production which was called Choices of Life. I was a child for the performance with the rest of the children in the dance made up the dance I was nervous for the main characters with lots of lines and I have no lines but still nervous for our dance.

For Art this week we were trying to do our calendar art and I am doing a deer and long grass next to it and I think my background is good .

Enviro Planning Day 

For Enviro planning Day we had Room 3 in for the day and my buddy was Ella and Indy and we made boats and we made 2 boats and one was for Indy and one was for Ella and i to share witch Ella toke it home.

Production

This week on Monday night, Tuesday day and night and Wednesday day we did production and for the production I was a child and i think i am proud of myself of making the dance with the other children for the play. My mum came to watch on Monday night. on Tuesday night I was going to step up and do summers roll as a shopkeeper only because she was running late  I was very nervous to do it.

In Math this week we haven't done much because of the Must do and can do set up but I have been learning my division and tame tables and home as well as Mathletics. Also in the must do and can do set up I have done a division poster to show my work on division

In writing this week we have done a learning conference and I think it went well when talking to my mum and Mr Gemmell. I just need to work on somethings.

Child Abuse Needs to stop

Intro

You just do a tiny thing to disturb your parents, wait so you think they're not going to hurt you up well you are wrong they will go straight to you. It is disgusting to hear what some parents have to say about their children. Child abuse can cause depression and depression can lead to death.

Reason 1

Did you know about 2.9 million kids die or get injured in the USA every 3 months why because they're parents don’t care.  If you hurt the child physically then you can damage the child because some mothers hate their children so then they leave them to starve to death then the mother are guilty. Some kids with broken bones don't get to go to the  doctors because the caregiver or parent’s don’t care or even their neighbors don’t take them because they are scared of their parents are going to hurt them.

Reason 2

Child abuse factors include issues over their family. The parents are influencing their children to become like their parents. Some households that suffer from anger issues have higher anger over their children. There are some children that don’t know that they are being abused, that might be a weird sentence to say to you because most children should know that they are been abuse. Outcomes are that child abuse can result in both long and short suffer issues and injuries or death.   

Reason 3

Kids today don’t even reach the age of 1 to 5 or 5 to 12 because their mum or dad don’t care in a way that causes the child to die only because child abuse gets worse and worse as the child gets older. Most of the time the parents are teenages and have no respect over the child.

Conclusion

I don’t believe that the government is not doing enough on solving child abuse issues over the past few years, so that's why I have done this speech topic to tell you to stop CHILD ABUSE!!! Think about it!!

In math this week we have been doing Division and I have been enjoying it because Ella helped me do it in a different way to solve it. I am so glad I can do it and because of Ella she made me be in the highest group. YAY!!!

This week in math we have been learning to 360 turns and 90 turns as well as the time for example

Integrity Games

Integrity Games🍩😜

The Integrity games went good, Flynn, Fynn and Marcus was our buddies. It was okay with them but they were not organized for the day at all, their game was that there was two hula hoops and there was five people in a line and you had to look down and then look up at someone and if there was the same person who was looking at you and that was the same person that you were looking at then you would run to the hula hoops on the ground. Ella and I had a great time organizing our game for the Integrity game and we think we went good and that they like our game

Math:

In math this week I have been enjoying doing the time table gird because I know most of my time tables and I have been getting 100% on Wednesday and Thursday.I have also been enjoying doing a different way to figure out your times table that impossible like your one hundreds and forty's.

Reading:

In Reading I have enjoying reading "wonder struck". I enjoy going to the library but I find it hard to find the right book and I like doing book talk because I get to get some ideas and next time I go to the library I could get something like that book.

Writing:

I enjoyed publishing my first writing piece and I enjoyed talk to my mum and dad for my learning conference and talking to Mr Gemmell about my learning. 

Inquiry:
We went on the walk to the readout at pirongia and I enjoyed going there to film all about the treaty of waitangi.

Math: I enjoy doing doubles and halves and I like doing"groups of" game for the first time. I have learnt my 6 and 4 time tables. i have passed my 10, 5, 9 and 2 time tables. 


Reading: I have liked doing sentences in our reading group book and we all liked that we won for the impressing, colorful book of the class. I have enjoyed reading "wonder" and "Twist of gold" 

Writing: I liked when we did when we did similes and metaphors in our book with the funny pictures. 

Inquiry: I enjoyed when Ella and I did the Integrity game at the backfield and we were to share our Integrity game. 

Spelling: I was so close to being 100% of my spelling word and i was practicing my words.

In Math this week  have been enjoying learning a new game Yahtzee and what is Place Value and working on F.T.O and playing RISK. this week I have won a sliver Medal and I have been working on my 7 and 8 time table.

I have been enjoying reading Michael Morpurgos books 📖 and I have only just started reading his books. I like reading with the teacher beacuse I like learning new books to find out new stuff in them. 

Writing...
In writing this week I have been learning about similes and metaphors and we had to do it with our writing buddy (my buddy was Lewis) and we came up with a few similes and one sentence with metaphors in it. 😃

We have learnt Rhythm, Dynamics, Tempo, Pitch and Timbre in music and we have also had to make up a little kids game and it has to be for ten Minutes and I am doing it with Ella.
